In 1818 wealthy Widower Miranda Talbot enjoys her independent lifestyle as she goes where she wants without a chaperone or a maid attached to her hip. However, she also enjoys the company of intelligent Pollux Worthington. Finally she feels a bit fickle as she also likes Poll’s twin, Castor.

Confirmed bachelors, the siblings both realize they compete for the same widow. However, Cas and Poll soon covet more than just a seduction as each brother begins to fall in love with Miranda and she with both of them. Meanwhile, an unknown adversary targets Miranda and her twin courters.

The second Worthington Regency romance (see When She Said I Do) is an entertaining historical with a “Did You Ever Have To Make Up Your Mind” (Lovin’ Spoonful) premise. Although the suspense adds tension, the tale belongs to the dueling courtships who quote the Bard; but paraphrasing John Sebastian: Miranda knows that “sometimes you really dig a (guy) the moment you kiss (him) and then you get distracted by (his twin brother)”.
