“Do You Take This
Rebel?” Almost a decade ago in Winding River, Wyoming, pregnant Cassie Collins left town
carrying her boyfriend Cole Davis’ baby; vowing to raise her child as a single
mom. She became a waitress while
providing a home for her son Jake. When
Jake learns of his mom’s ten year high school reunion, he schemes to raise the
money so she can attend. Cole never
forgave Cassie for abandoning him ten years ago, but when they meet each knows
they still love the other. However, Cole
demands Cassie tell him who Jake’s biological dad is, but she fears money talks
in court; as she believes he and his wealthy dad will legally take her beloved
son from her.
“Courting the
Enemy”. Grady
Blackhawk wants to buy Karen Hason’s ranch.
Though she needs the money, Karen stubbornly refuses to sell to him
because her late husband made her pledge to do nothing with Grady. Besides wanting the spread once belonging to
his ancestors, Grady also wants the widow he loves. However, her doubts hammered home by her
deceased spouse leaves her thinking Grady covets the ranch not her.
The reprints of the first two Calamity
Janes novels (published in 2001) are pleasant rural romances in which extended
family matters, but not necessarily in a positive way.
