Their mother begs Allie Miller to have her ex Jimmy escort her to
her brother Scott’s wedding. However,
Allie insists she will attend alone; concealing that Jimmy is in prison.
Jack Fletcher planned to bring his girlfriend Brenda to his cousin
Emily’s Newport wedding, but their relationship ended after he responded. He asks his friend Charlotte Harrington the
artist to be his plus one non-date.
At Scott and Emily’s ceremony, Providence public relations rivals
Allie and Jack meet when he initially thinks she is Charlotte. When Allie and Charlotte run into each other at
that gala, each is stunned by how much they look alike and both admit they are
adopted. Jack and Allie fall in love but
neither want anything permanent as they even approach their vocation
differently with her being artsy and him pragmatic. At the same time Allie and Charlotte look
into their obviously shared biological background.
This appealing Rhode Island contemporary combines a wonderful
romance with the first encounter of separately adopted adult identical
twins. The lead trio makes for a captivating
drama; as Jack and Allie share in common an attraction, a profession, and
seemingly relationship avoidant personalities; while the identical twins,
wanting a sisterly relationship, explore how similar they behave and search for
their genealogy.
