The offspring of two country and western stars, Destiny Mills tries to avoid the limelight though the Paparazzi insures otherwise.  Destiny travels the country helping towns with STORMS search-and-rescue software.  Accompanied by her teenage half-sister Starr whom she met for the first time ten days ago in Austin, Destiny’s latest stop is Fool’s Gold, California to assist with the launch of HERO (Help Emergency rescue Operations).

Olympic Gold Medalist Kipling Gilmore’s “G-Force” downhill skiing career ended with a serious injury caused by a crash.  He came to town to be with his abused sister Shelby who owns Ambrosia Bakery, but has bought into a sport’s bar.  As Kipling and Destiny work together on implementing the STORMS program and deal with family crisis, they fall in love; an emotion neither craves.

The nineteenth Fool’s Gold romance (see Before We Kiss and Until We Touch) is a captivating contemporary starring two individuals who believe “Love Hurts” (Nazareth) so prefer to distant themselves from those undesirable feelings.  Although the sister issues seem overly dramatic, Hold Me is a warm drama.
