Make You Mine
St. Martin's Paperbacks, May 5 2015, $7.99
Nine Circles billionaire Alex St. James loves two things, women and gambling; he is successful at both even doubling down. However, he has one secret goal: one day take revenge against the predator who molested him, damaging him emotionally.
Alex has that chance when he receives an extremely rare invitation to play in the fabled Apocalypse poker game at the Four Horsemen Club. Ergo he plans to be in Monte Carlo, but needs his tundra-iced bodyguard Katya Ivanova to pretend to be his lover instead of his protector. To persuade her, he offers to get her fiancé Mikhail Vasin, hand-picked by her father the General, out of Chechnya. As they masquerade as a loving couple; she figuratively rips his skin until she reaches his heart, while he thaws the tundra surrounding hers.
The second Nine Circles romance (see Mine to Take) is a tense drama starring fascinating leads especially the seemingly frozen virgin Russian. The underlying premise is explained relatively early by the heroine when she insists a family member does not necessarily denote blood ties and blood ties does not signify a family member.
