In New Chapel, Indiana, Bloomers Flower Shop owner Abby Knight and Down the Hatch Bar & Grill owner and private investigator Marco Salvare are marrying in a few weeks. Abby’s former fiancé wealthy Pryce Osborne II of the old Osborne money begs her and Marco to help him; as his current acceptable fiancée Melissa vanished while they hosted a weekend gathering at his beach house for the weekend.. Though she should refuse since Pryce rejected her after she failed the Osborne family Kentucky blue grass test Abby and Marco agree to investigate.

The engaged couple interview the guests, but none cooperate; in fact most hinder their inquiry into the disappearance of Melissa. However, the case turns bizarre when a guest drowns with the overwhelming evidence pointing towards Pryce having committed a homicide.

The latest pleasant Flower Shop mystery (see Night of the Living Dandelions and To Catch a Leaf) is an engaging cozy as Abby runs her shop, prepares for the wedding, and squeezes in sleuthing. She and her fiancé are likable as they are caring, concerned people who are there for their family, friends and even cruel ex’s. The investigation contains entertaining red herrings and twists as the lead sleuths apply reverse psychology to obtain information from the snoot crowd. Fans will enjoy this fun lighthearted whodunit.
