This is an entertaining memoir as Heather Poole tells readers about her life in and out of the sky. Her mom persuaded Ms. Poole to become a flight attendant; she obtains the job though in her mind this was just a short term position; years later this has become her vocation. The jocular insight into the “crash pads” mostly in Queens (ease to and from airport access) is fascinating as roommates change, landlords seem interchangeable and overcrowding is the norm. The narrative overly leaps about between the personal and observer. This makes it a bit difficult to follow between flying incidents, crash pad events and personal insight. Still the on board hi-jinx of people seemingly willing to do anything including joining the Mile High Club in the bathroom of a crowded plane or watching police escorts and the craziness of the crash pads engage the audience as Ms. Poole writes a rounded memoir as she limits the crazy escapades by making them part of an overall rounded witty memoir of “Crashpads, Crew Drama, and Crazy Passengers at 35,000 Feet” and at ground level.
