Alan Huffman & Michael Rejebian
Morrow, Jan 24 2012, $15.99
ISBN: 9780062015778
This is a stunning look at the dysfunctional American political system by two opposition researchers, whose function as an oppo is to find the dirt to inter an opponent. The authors believe in truth which makes them relics with the next generation of instant information age misinformation, disinformation and blatant lies (for instance, the President is Muslim and a member of a radical Christian Church) abound about a candidate’s background as death squads leave many dead; some unfairly. Anecdotal as the pair works all levels of government around the country, readers will learn the inside to legal intelligence that can Swifted exaggerated out of context with most opponents (and those hiring the Oppos) having something to hide from the public in a time when news is customized to personal value systems. Intriguing and timely with the recent carpet bombing, readers will enjoy running around the country escorted into the darkest records by Alan Huffman & Michael Rejebian whether it is the New Jersey docks or Texas. However, the only flaw in a well written exposé is the insistence by the authors that oppo research is critical to keeping the people informed with the truth; but ignores the downside of the end justifies the mean as any cost means destroying families and keeping potentially good individuals from actively participating in a political realm in which hyperbole, exclusion and negativity rule.
