On the Horn of Africa, Interpol agent Stella Carson and Air Force pararescueman Jose “Cuervo” James meet while on an antipiracy mission. The attraction is hotter than the tropics, but a disappointed Stella leaves when she wants much more than just hot sex with their relationship while Jose cannot overcome his emotionally crippling nasty childhood.

In East Africa, terrorists capture an undercover Stella and other prisoners. Jose and his teammates parachute into the dangerous zone to rescue the hostages. As the adversaries pursue them, the multi-force rescue team lead a race to safety across the jungle while also needing to prevent a terrorist attack on the American embassy. The desire between Stella and Jose turns into love, but decisions about their relationship remains in the future as their feelings must not impede mission accomplished.

The latest Elite Force: That Others May Live romantic thriller (see Under Fire and Hot Zone) is a terrific tale due to the growing love between the protagonists staying in the background though readers will feel the need as the mission comes first. In fact, much of the romantic subplot is told in flashbacks to their first encounter and with Jose’s fears of turning back to alcohol if something happens to Stella. Although the storyline follows the most obvious path fans will enjoy the rousing “rumble in the jungle.”
