In 1813 whenever the women of Lavender House meet, the rest of the Ton assumes nasty gossip is flying between them. The aristocracy is ignorant about this group of ladies, who are a select few belonging to the Lavender House white witch coven keeping evil from harming England.

Although not nearly as bold as her coven sisterhood members are, Faye feels the time for her to join the war against evil is now. She is assigned to go undercover amidst the gaiety of the Ton in London to determine who killed Lord Brendier. The prime suspect is Rogan so when Faye ends up in his arms, she ignores how lovely that feels as she insists to herself she is doing her femme fatale job. Having been burned by a woman before, Rogan normally stays far away from the Ton’s beauties, but he cannot ignore Faye’s bewitching attraction especially when he perceives the danger she is in from an unknown enemy.

Readers will appreciate the latest Lavender House investigative historical romantic fantasy (see Seduced by Your Spell and Under Your Spell) due to a strong atmosphere of enchantment that feels real enhanced by the lead couple. Whereas Rogan is brave and bold, Faye is timid and shy. Together they make a powerful duet who, with some terrific whodunit plot twists, spellbinds the audience.
