During another crappy long day the American military
convoy drives on a bad road in Afghanistan.
With no warning, abruptly two vehicles with ten on board inexplicably go
off road and lose contact with the rest of the unit. Efforts to communicate with the envoy or a
nearby base fail. Bewildered First
Lieutenant Sean Elliot, as the highest ranking person left behind, looks
outside only to recognize nothing.
Frightened because their predicament makes no
sense, the astonished soldiers soon meet a seemingly Stone Age tribe, an
improbable Roman Century military unit and a few stragglers from diverse other
time periods. As the soldiers struggle
in a world they do not understand nor mentally, physically or equipped to
endure, two individuals more technologically advanced than the confused
displaced Americans arrive.
This is a refreshing time travel thriller based
on the premise that twenty-first century highly trained and armed soldiers
would find survivability in the Paleolithic Era extremely difficult. The leisurely-paced storyline focuses on
inter and intra relationships that brings a sense of realism to the thoughtful
plot.
