My Lady Mage

ISBN: 9780451237446
Cruel Fagan uses evil magic to take control of Agathia following the death of his brother. His iron fist sends his desperate niece Lady Merewen to the nearby river to plead for the Warriors of the Mist to leave their resting places and save the people.
Though it has been many years since their return, the Lord and Lady of the River send Gideon and four companions to answer her call. As Lady Merewen faints at his feet, Gideon knows the cost of being her champion means going before the gods who condemned them to their river existence and pray they earned redemption. He also understands how bad the situation must be for his leaders to dispatch him and his teammates. However, the enemy has also summoned an abomination that has the Warriors of the Mist doubting success while their leader struggles to control his attraction to lady Merewen.
The first Warriors of the Mist romantic fantasy is an enjoyable tale starring a strong cast (including horses), but the otherworldly elements are left too vague. The romance is deftly handled to flow within the fast-paced storyline as the protagonists never lose sight of the mission. Filled with action from the moment Gideon and the others rise from the sea and never hitting the brakes, fans will anticipate the battle between the condemned good and the vilest evil.
