Late Uncle Louis left Glory Martine his souvenir, curio and collectible shop located in Keyhole Bay, Florida. After too many unexplained happenings in her new store, Glory is nearly convinced her shop is haunted by her deceased relative who talks to her through her parrot Bluebeard.

Glory and her friend, Karen the reporter, are at the scene of a traffic accident in which the high school football star Kevin Stanley dies. The police assume the victim was intoxicated because he just left a keg party so they take their time on the investigation. At the shop Bluebeard insists: “It wasn’t an accident” and he leaves newspapers on the table that includes articles about Uncle Louis leding Glory to want to learn more about her mysterious relative. Glory believes that her Uncle Louis is speaking to her. To prove to herself she is not insane, Glory and Karen investigate Kevin’s death with the help of two buddies Ernie and Felipe

The freshness in this paranormal cozy comes from Bluebeard the possessed parrot (if he is not possessed than our heroine suffers from a form of dementia) who as Uncle Louis wants to know and help his niece. The BFFs are fully developed with each seemingly capable of holding their own series though Keyhole Bay would need a crime wave. With a relative from beyond as the spiritual guide, Christy Fifield’s Haunted Souvenir Shop regional amateur sleuth tale is an entertaining and clever Florida whodunit .
