In London twenty-seven year old Lara Lington has enough on her plate with her partner Natalie running off to Goa while their company L&N Executive Recruitment flounders. She becomes a bit worried about her mental state when her late Great Aunt Sadie arrives in full ghostly array as no one except die hard Ghostbuster fans believe in ghosts. To make matters worse her flapper dead relative demand her niece loosen up and have fun at a time she still recovers from Mr. perfect kicking her to the curb, and to find her missing necklace that she possessed for over seven decades.
Lara wants Sadie to leave as she realizes they share nothing in common except a desire to locate the missing necklace though their motives differ. As the TWENTIES GIRL relishes the twenty-first century, she and her hostess begin to discover they have much more in common than they thought especially on what matters in life as each wants to find love someone to love and be loved eternally.
This is an amusing paranormal chick lit tale stolen by the zany flapper girl mentality of Aunt Sadie who demands her great niece find her lost necklace that means everything to her and orders her to loosen up and have fun while seeking the “One”. Lara is terrific as the second banana in spite of being the main character. Except for the overused lists that are an overkill method in the sub-genre, Sophie Kinsella provides a super jocular yet poignant relationship story.
